Dara Katz, an executive editor at Gallery Media Group’s PureWow, is a multi-hyphenate—buzzword, thank you—creator with a focus in women’s lifestyle branding, visual storytelling and comedy writing.
In 2023, Dara launched Mamaleh Jewelry, inspired by the need for contemporary Jewish accessories. The brand has been featured in JUF Magazine, Oprah Daily, Kveller and more and produces live, consumer-facing events.
She writes, produces and directs with collaborator, Betsy Kenney (Cool Right Productions). Their short film Tapes, a dramedy about a mother/daughter relationship, was selected to premiere at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival and has more than 100K views on YouTube. Their 2018 film, Amazing Bagel, a soft and sweet comedy about a miscarriage, was an official selection of the 2019 Maryland Film Festival, Calgary International Film Festival and won the Audience Choice Award at the Nitehawk Shorts Fest.
Prior to motherhood, Dara was part of the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre as a sketch performer and improviser.
